Orange Wedding Color Inspiration
Oh, Orange. How I love you. The vibrancy of this color and all the glory that comes with it leaves me speechless every-time I see it. Whether it’s clothing, accessories, florals, decorations, or weaved into a part of a design – this color is sure to get a reaction. I especially love how it looks against the deep royal blue dishes from a client’s wedding.
Soft or bright? That is the question. Either way, the color looks amazing paired with greens, blues, pinks, and yellows.
Peaches and creams are a beautiful combination of orange, being a bit more on the demure side, and change the overall effect.
Orange is truly fresh, vibrant, and radiant for any event! The crispness of it’s rich color leaves us wanting more and we can’t wait to see what our upcoming brides plan for their colors and decor.
Waiting To Tie The Knot | Groom’s Style
There is always so much focus on the bride, but we don’t want to neglect our grooms! We thought we’d post a few highlights from past grooms who really had a special sparkle in their eye. These handsome fellows show some of the many options available to a groom on the big day. A black tux is not the only choice!
These groomsmen are making themselves useful by helping the groom pull his wedding day look together. We appreciate all of the men banding together to make sure the groom is at his best. These men have some style!
Men’s wedding day accessories run the gamut. Fellas, you can get creative with cuff links, personalized socks, shoes, or slippers, and the type of suit or tuxedo you choose to wear. Color can play a large part in your overall wedding look as well – down to the last details for your and your groomsmen.
Congrats to these handsome and happy fellows who all put together amazing wedding day looks!
Fall Wedding Details & Decor
Now that Fall is officially here, we thought it would be fun to start off the season with some wedding details and decor that blend nicely into the season. Warm, rich, fall colors are certainly a hit this time of year, be they chocolate browns, tans, oranges, yellows, or greens. We can’t wait to see what the new season of weddings has in store for us!
Grey Likes Weddings & Brides Wedding Feature
We are excited to have Suzy’s work with our bride and groom, Adriane & Andy, from Texas to currently be featured on Grey Likes Weddings site! Adriane’s favorite color is green, so the vibrant Isaac Mizrahi dress was an instant choice for her, and a complete hit with everyone. It also made for a gorgeous pop of color against the natural backdrop at their Napa Valley rehearsal dinner at Rubicon Estates, owned by Francis Ford Coppola. The couple were married the next day at Beaulieu Vineyards in an elegant wedding and reception which incorporated more of the bride’s favorite color. US Weekly Celebrity Wedding Feature | Alicia Silverstone’s Wedding
Suzy was recently contacted by US Weekly who is putting together a celebrity wedding book featuring her work from actress Alicia Silverstone’s wedding in Lake Tahoe. Alicia was an amazing client to work with and wanted an organic, earth-friendly wedding. She planned her wedding in the gorgeous Lake Tahoe area, walked down the aisle barefoot, and used the natural environment to enhance the beauty of the day organically and reduce waste.
Suzy captured Alicia for a bridal portrait that was stunning in this natural setting. Alicia’s sage green sash played beautifully against the foliage in the background.
The couple exchanged vows on the waterfront of the Lake in front of close family and friends.
Lake Tahoe is a gorgeous place to get married. Suzy enjoyed working in the natural elements, capturing the surrounding mountains and sky in this couple’s wedding photographs.
Alicia served an entirely organic, vegan menu to her guests at the cocktail hour and reception. These adorable mason jars were a great touch and, along with the barrels, worked really well with the natural, outdoor environment.
We wish Alicia & Christopher a lifetime of happiness together!
Baker Beach Engagement Session | Kate & Kalan
Our clients, Kate & Kalan, recently enjoyed their engagement session at Baker Beach. This is a great location for an engagement sessions if you are particularly keen on the Bay Area or the Golden Gate Bridge. It really captures the essence of the Bay Area and what better backdrop than the gorgeous bridge to have? The waves, water, sand, rocks, and beach all make for amazing details for your engagement session.
A great way to prepare for your wedding day is with an engagement session. These are fun, spontaneous, and allow you and your partner to get a small glimpse of what it will be like to be photographed on your wedding day. If you aren’t particularly comfortable with being photographed, then we especially recommend you have a session to warm you up for the camera.
You will get to know your photographer, develop a working relationship with them, and have time to practice with your partner in how you function best with a camera. Your photographer will advise you on how to work together for a successful shoot, guide you as much as they can, and help you with particular poses and looks you may desire for your shoot.
Certainly come with ideas and feel free to discuss them with your photographer – we love new locations and inspiration! Enjoy your shoot and remember that this is a time to capture moments previous to the big day, so don’t be afraid to let loose, have fun, and enjoy each other!
Candid Photography | Let Yourself Be In The Moment
One of our philosophies we hold true to our projects is that we want our clients to find beauty in their moment on camera. Some of our favorite work and signature photographs are those that capture a true moment for a person. It is always our recommendation that you enjoy every minute of your event and let us make the magic with the lens happen for you.
Part of the key to having photographs that you will love forever is to forget that we are there with you. Try to ignore the camera and pretend we don’t exist. These add up to the moments that you will cherish forever and have printed for your home walls forever.
It can be hard to forget that the lens or the photographer is in the room with you. Hence why we recommend that you have an engagement session previous to your wedding so you are comfortable with your photographer once the big day arrives. This allows you time to get to know your photographer, develop a bond with them further, and get to know their working style so that on the day of your wedding you already have a pre-existing bond with them to allow you to feel at ease in front of the lens.
Beautiful, timeless photographs embrace a candid quality so just remember to be free, relax, and enjoy each moment of your special day. After all, this is your special moment and it’s imperative that you live for that day and not the camera lens.
