Love is a Boy

If ever pure, sweet love was somehow manifested in the form of a boy, this is that boy.

Love shoots off of this boy like beams of light.  Anyone that spends time with him can feel it.  It is a gift.

Seriously.  Those eyes.

Happy fifth birthday to my incredibly special boy.  Thank you for blessing us with your love.

Foggy Holiday

Being self-employed, my husband and I end up working on most of the federal holidays.  But we decided to actually observe MLK day and do something fun with our kiddos.  I’ve been craving Ocean Beach, so we hit the city.  It was one of those amazing San Francisco days – super thick, cool fog burning off by around 11 am to brilliant blue skies and sun – except, as we discovered, for the last 6 blocks as you near the ocean.  We drove right into a wall of fog, and it was pea soup on the beach – so dense that we couldn’t even see the ocean as we walked up onto the sand.

We could hear it, so we knew it was there, although even the sound seemed muffled by the heavy mist that hung in the air.

It was beautiful, mystical, and a little eerie.  Couldn’t have asked for anything better.

Pony Love

Over the summer, we had an amazing trip to Chincoteague Island in Virginia.  Horse lovers will know that wild ponies live on neighboring Assateague Island, and that this is the setting for Marguerite Henry’s beloved “Misty of Chincoteague” series of children’s books.  My girl is horse crazy, and her joy was complete.  Of course, horses (and girls that love them) make fantastic photo subjects, so I was pretty happy, too.

A slice of heaven right here for my girl:
